Travelogues
From here, you can access the entire travelogues of every major trip that I’ve taken since my Australia trip at the very beginning of 2009. I wish I’d have thought of keeping these logs sooner, but such is life.
Australia–January 2009
This is the first travelogue of them all, the beginning of a tradition. And what a beginning it is-from multiple tire blowouts, to the Australian idea of spicy food, to Kangaroos, Skinks, and Emus–from Sydney to Alice Springs and back, this was an amazing trip across half of a continent.
Hawaii–December 2009-January 2010
Join my family as we set off for the Hawaiian Islands. Beautiful beaches, submarine rides, and some of the largest telescopes in the world promise to make this a fine addition to the growing travelogue cannon.
South Lake Tahoe-March 2010
The whole Tucson gang visits Chris’ family’s cabin in South Lake Tahoe for skiing, relaxation, and fun times over spring break. This trip introduced me to the extreme terror and enjoyment that is sliding down frozen mountains on waxed slats of fiberglass. Somehow I survived, though not for trying.
The Wedding of Pete–June 2010
In the summer of 2010, my friend, colleague, and neighbor, Pete, is getting married. Many of us fly into Northampton, MA to attend the pre-wedding festivities. On the return trip, I fly back to Albuquerque and drive my car back to Tucson.
2010 Sierra Trip #1–Coming Early July 2010
The first of two Sierra trips during the summer of 2010, I will be heading out with my Dad to do Science, take pictures, and hopefully do some brief hikes in the range of light. This is not to be confused with the second planned Sierra trip this summer, which includes my brother and is specifically intended for hiking.
Canada–Coming Late July 2010
Continuing my busy summer of travel, I will visit western Canada with my family for a law conference for my Mom. The rest of us plan to investigate several glaciers and venture further north than our last Canada trip took us, time permitting.
2010 Sierra Trip #2–Coming August 2010
An annual tradition for my father, my brother, and myself is to observe the Perseid meteor shower in the High Sierra. We also plan on doing a short hike to the top of Independence Peak from Onion Valley. This trip promises even more picture opportunities than the last.
